These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Echo.pet mobile application, website, and NFC tag products (collectively, the "Service") operated by North Star Digital Labs ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
Echo.pet provides NFC-enabled pet identification tags and a companion mobile application. The Service allows pet owners to create digital profiles for their pets that can be accessed by scanning the NFC tag with a compatible smartphone. Features include pet profile management, Lost Mode alerts, Medical Passport health records, and owner contact options.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You retain ownership of any content you upload to the Service (including photos, text, and medical records). By uploading content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload.
NFC tags are physical products sold separately from the app. Tags are designed for attachment to pet collars and are water-resistant under normal conditions. We do not guarantee tag functionality if the tag is physically damaged, modified, or used outside its intended purpose. Tags require a compatible NFC-enabled smartphone to scan.
The Lost Mode feature is provided as an aid and does not guarantee the recovery of a lost pet. Location data provided during scans is approximate and depends on the scanning device's capabilities. We are not responsible for the accuracy of location data or the actions of third parties who scan tags. Push notifications require an active internet connection and properly configured device settings.
The Medical Passport feature is designed for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. The AI-powered document processing may contain errors. You should always verify medical information with your veterinarian. We are not responsible for decisions made based on information stored in the Medical Passport.
The Service, including its design, logos, software, and content (excluding user content), is owned by North Star Digital Labs and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our intellectual property without our written permission.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NORTH STAR DIGITAL LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless North Star Digital Labs and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and, where possible, by in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which North Star Digital Labs is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
